The teacher who taught me a secret
In today's online English conversation lesson, my teacher taught me the secret to be happy.
I want to be able to encourage people from all different backgrounds like the teacher who taught me today.
I like to read books and I am interested in Alfred Adler at the moment.
I told him/her so.
The teacher asked me if I was interested in psychology.
I replied that I wasn't really interested in psychology, I just want to be happy.
From that point on, the teacher dug into the conversation very deeply and gave me simple, clear and practical advice.
Taking a sincere interest in the other person's interests is the basis of a good relationship.
It is not just a small technique.
I thought I would, if I could, continue to make appointments with today's teacher.
Next week, I have an annual contract renewal with an English conversation school.
At the time of renewal, the credit card payment always fails and all my bookings disappear.
This year I decided to use a different credit card than before.
And I decided not to keep my lesson bookings.
If the renewal goes well, I want to book quickly.
I want to talk to this person more.
I want to get to know this person.
If I don't feel that way, I can't take lessons.
Because I choose to learn English through small talk, not through school materials.
