How can I get myself to drink water?

Yesterday, my internist told me to drink water a little bit at a time.
I think that means often and little by little.
Next to the doctor there was a slightly emptied bottle of barley tea.
I assumed that the doctor was also taking a little bit of water between patients.

When I first bought my smartwatch, I bought an app called WaterMinder, which sent a 'drink water' notification to my smartphone and smartwatch every 90 minutes.
That was around 2019.
If I drink 250 millilitres of water every 90 minutes, starting at 8am, until 6.30pm in the evening, I will reach my target amount of two litres a day.

However, drinking water every 90 minutes is too much of an interval to be a little bit at a time.

Yesterday, I made sure that I always had a cup with something to drink by my side and took a sip every now and then.
Then my legs didn't cramp when I was sleeping at night.
Every time I sipped my drink, I felt like I was doing self-care, which wasn't too bad.

I want to change my mindset so that instead of drinking 250 millilitres of water in one gulp every 90 minutes, I'm done drinking 250 millilitres of water after 90 minutes.
Perhaps the little bit of drinking method might make me drink more than 250 millilitres of water.

This is fine on holidays.
The problem is at work.
Plastic bottles have lids and are less likely to spill water.
But I have to put the empty bottle in the recycling bin.
This is a hassle, so I try not to buy bottled drinks.

I take a Brita water purification bottle and a metal cup to work and fill the water purification bottle from the tap.
I then pour only what I need to drink from the water purification bottle into the cup.
My fear is that I will spill my drink and break my computer or keyboard.

I have to be honest with my boss that the urine test showed something wrong and tell him that I drink a little bit of water, but don't worry about it.
I also have to tell my boss the message the doctor gave me last Friday.
The doctor did not write a medical report.
Perhaps the doctor thinks it is important that I tell my boss about it by myself.

In case readers are confused, I saw my doctor last Friday and the following day, Saturday, I had a routine medical examination.
My doctor is a doctor who has been looking after my mental illness for more than a decade.
I have been going to my internist every month for blood and urine tests since I was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, when my blood sugar levels were high.
