Reasons for low blood pressure
During my monthly visit to my internist, I discussed my recent low blood pressure with the doctor.
The doctor theorised that I had not been drinking water at the time and was probably dehydrated.
Indeed, in the pre-physical examination briefing document, it said that I could only drink 200 millilitres of water up to two hours before the examination.
I took my usual medication with that water.
The doctor told me that dehydration can cause low blood pressure due to poor blood flow.
For the record, today's blood pressure was 133 on the high side.
The doctor pointed out that I had white blood cells in my urine.
The doctor said that I am on the verge of having bladder infection.
I did not drink water or go to the toilet while I was at work.
I had had pyelonephritis in my twenties because of that and had to be hospitalised in the urology unit.
With the weather getting cooler, I didn't take hydration very seriously.
This is not good.
When I came home, in my spare time I would drink herbal tea, astragalus tea or water.
I wish I had the time to take a break with something warm to drink.
