A smaller pile of books
I laid out all my books on a desk the other day.
Then I separated them into books I need and books I don't need.
My husband put the unneeded books up for sale on a flea market app.
He has already sold 10 books.
I was a little surprised when I came home and the pile of books was smaller.
He said that when he put a lower price on them, they sold like hotcakes.
For example, a single copy of Haruki Murakami's The Knight Commander's Killer was priced at 880 yen for both the upper and lower volumes.
There is a large chain shop in Japan called Book-Off that deals in second-hand books, and if I had sold them there, they would have been bought for much cheaper.
I am deeply grateful to my husband, who not only did the display and transaction, but also did all the packing and shipping.
I am terribly shocked to realise something at work.
So I'm going to bed today.
