Tutor's sadness
Today I had an online English conversation lesson.
The tutor seemed to be having problems with his internet connection and was very upset.
The tutor has never been late in his working life.
If there was a bus or underground strike in London, he would get up early and walk to work.
But he was late for this lesson with me.
He repeatedly said he was sorry.
But it was not the tutor's fault.
On top of that, last week a student who had been taking lessons with him for five years left because that student could not renew their membership.
Probably because the price has gone up.
The teacher was asking how much more I had left on my subscription.
The tutor said that he wondered if I was doing well in my new job on Monday this week.
I'm very grateful.
Our society, which relies on the internet, is very fragile.
The tutor has been a great help to me, so when he is sad, I am sad too.
