What I forgot
I received an email from a person at my former place of work.
They wanted me to return their insurance card and that a departmental member had asked about the key to the storeroom.
Oops.
I had still borrowed one of the keys.
I had forgotten about it for a long time.
I went home and addressed the envelope.
I attached a handwritten letter.
To make sure I wouldn't forget to put the all-important key in the envelope, I wrote the word 'key' in big letters on a fancy sticky note and stuck it in the file containing the envelope.
In truth, I hid the key in the pocket of my stationery case, and the stationery case is currently in the locker at my new workplace.
The locker is locked.
At lunchtime, I'll put the key in it, tape it to the letterhead with masking tape and go to the post office to send it out.
The stamp at the post office will give the recipient the address of my current workplace, but I can't be bothered.
The insurance card was posted yesterday morning.
Now I will be uninsured for a while and will not be able to see a medical professional.
I have to be very careful about illness and injury.
This morning I left home earlier than yesterday with my computer.
I ordered an iced coffee without ice at a café.
I opened the computer after I had finished my drink, because spilling my drink would damage the computer.
Before leaving home, I put away the futon in the bedroom and laid a sheet on the tatami.
On the sheet, I took out everything that was under the kitchen sink and laid it out.
The kitchen sink was full of things: pots, colanders, seasonings, storage containers, cooking utensils and so on.
The reason for this is that the tap in the kitchen is broken and a service company is coming to fix it today.
We were told in advance that the sink would have to be removed to do the work.
When I get home today, I want to put my bedroom back to normal and do some laundry.
Because it is the middle of the week.
If I can't do laundry today, there will be more laundry to do on Saturday.
######
I went home and put the bedroom back together and did the laundry.
One pair of audio equipment broke.
I think I broke it.
Because I handled it roughly.
I talked to the manufacturer about it and made an appointment to take it to a real shop to have it looked at.
Today I had a very bad day in my personal life.
I was thinking one thing wrong.
I was reminded of that.
So I made a decision.
I'm going to get out of the IRC.
It was a mistake for me to be on IRC, as I have always found it difficult to get along with people.
I also switched off the Linux machine that was always running and gave it a rest.
I have other things I have to work hard on.
Let's forget all about the past and do my best.
