K-Pop and me

More than a decade ago, during what could be called the first K-Pop boom, I became fond of a certain Korean idol group.
But, I had the selfish thought that 'I like that idol group, not K-pop. Don't put them together'.
Fans who stated that they liked other K-pop groups as well were called 'hangers-on' or 'omnivores'.
After a few years passed, I stopped supporting the group because I got tired of the snarling among some fans on the internet and felt a bit sad that the group had shifted its focus to solo activities.
Recently, after about 10 years had passed, I happened to listen to a playlist on Apple Music called 'K-Pop Best'.
It was a mix of old and new, but with a more old-fashioned selection, and the music was better than I had expected.
The whole thing was boldly influenced by American trends, but without losing the sing-songy taste.
I have put a number of my favourite songs on my playlist and listen to them over and over again.
